## How do you write happiness in Chinese calligraphy?

Happiness is 幸福 (xìngfú). Deep, lasting happiness, a good life. For a moment of joy, write 乐 or 喜.

## Which script should I choose for 幸福?

Regular script (楷书) is the one every Chinese reader can read, so it suits a tattoo, a gift or a sign. Running script (行书) looks handwritten and still reads easily. Cursive (草书) is the most beautiful and the hardest to read.

## Is this real calligraphy?

These are brush fonts, made from a calligrapher’s writing, so every copy of a character looks the same. A calligrapher’s own hand changes each stroke with the brush and the ink. For something to keep, such as a tattoo, have a calligrapher write it.
