# 绝句 Quatrain (Two Orioles)

Four lines, four pictures: orioles in the willows, egrets in the sky, snow on the western hills through the window, and boats from far away at the door.

liǎng两gè个huáng黄lí鹂míng鸣cuì翠liǔ柳，

Two orioles sing in the green willows;

yī一háng行bái白lù鹭shàng上qīng青tiān天。

a line of white egrets rises into the blue sky.

chuāng窗hán含xī西lǐng岭qiān千qiū秋xuě雪，

My window frames the western hills’ snow of a thousand autumns;

mén门bó泊dōng东wú吴wàn万lǐ里chuán船。

at my door are moored boats from Wu, ten thousand li away.
