# 草船借箭

Borrowing Arrows with Straw Boats

周瑜一心要除掉孔明，却苦于找不到借口。这天，他聚集众将，请孔明议事，问道：“不久就要与曹军交战，水上交兵，以什么兵器为先？”孔明答：“大江之上，以弓箭为先。”周瑜道：“先生说得对。只是军中正缺箭，敢烦先生监造十万枝箭。这是公事，先生不要推辞。”孔明道：“都督委托，自当效劳。不知十万枝箭何时要用？”周瑜道：“十日之内，能办完吗？”

孔明道：“曹军即日就到，若等十日，必定耽误大事。只需三日，便可献上十万枝箭。”周瑜道：“军中无戏言。”孔明道：“怎敢与都督开玩笑！愿立军令状，三日不办，甘当重罚。”周瑜大喜，当面收了军令状。孔明走后，鲁肃问：“他莫非是在说大话？”周瑜冷笑道：“是他自己送死，不是我逼他。我只叫工匠故意拖延，材料也不给他备齐。到时候定他的罪，他还有什么话说！”

鲁肃来看孔明，孔明道：“三天哪能造好十万枝箭？你一定要救我。望你借我二十只船，每船要军士三十人，船上都用青布作幔，各扎草束一千多个，分别放在船的两边。我自有妙用，第三天包管有十万枝箭。只是千万不能让周瑜知道。”鲁肃答应了，回去果然没提借船的事。第一天，不见孔明有什么动静；第二天，他仍然不动。

到了第三天四更时分，孔明秘密请鲁肃到船上。鲁肃问：“你叫我来做什么？”孔明道：“请你一同去取箭。”鲁肃问：“到哪里去取？”孔明道：“不必问，去了就知道。”于是叫人用长绳把二十只船连在一起，直向北岸进发。这一夜大雾漫天，长江上雾气更浓，对面不相见。

五更时分，船已靠近曹军营寨。孔明叫把船头朝西、船尾朝东，一字摆开，在船上擂鼓呐喊。鲁肃吓了一跳：“倘若曹兵一齐杀出，如何是好？”孔明笑道：“我料定曹操在大雾之中，必不敢出来。我们只管饮酒取乐，等雾散了就回去。”

曹操听见鼓声，传令道：“江上大雾弥漫，敌军忽然来到，必有埋伏，切不可轻动。”便叫来一万多名弓弩手，向江中放箭，一时间箭如雨下。过了一会儿，孔明又叫船队掉头，船头朝东、船尾朝西，逼近营寨受箭，一边仍旧擂鼓呐喊。

待到日出雾散，二十只船两边的草束上插满了箭。孔明叫船上的军士齐声高喊：“多谢丞相赐箭！”等曹操得知，这边船身轻，水流急，已经驶出二十多里，追也来不及了。

回到营中，清点一下，共得十万多枝箭。鲁肃叹道：“先生真乃神人也！怎么知道今天有这样的大雾？”孔明道：“为将而不通天文，不识地利，是庸才也。我三天前就算定今日有大雾，所以才敢立下三日的期限。”周瑜得知此事，大惊失色，长叹道：“孔明神机妙算，吾不如也！”

不久，周瑜请孔明来商议打败曹操的计策。孔明道：“都督先不要说出来，我们各自写在手心里，看看是否相同。”二人取来笔砚，各自暗暗写好，然后同时伸出手掌，一看之下，不禁一齐大笑。原来周瑜掌中是一个“火”字，孔明掌中，也是一个“火”字。
