Chapter 9

# 单骑救主

Zhao Yun Rides Alone

曹操亲率大军南下，荆州不战而降。玄德守不住新野、樊城，只得弃城，向南撤退，两县百姓却哭着要跟他走。于是十余万百姓扶老携幼，推车挑担，跟在军后，一天只能走十余里。众将劝道：“不如暂且丢下百姓，我们自己先走。”玄德流泪道：“举大事者必以人为本。如今百姓都来投奔我，我怎么忍心弃他们而去？”

曹操得知玄德一行走得迟缓，派五千铁骑昼夜追赶，终于在长坂追上。四更时分，西北方喊声震地，曹军漫山遍野杀来，百姓哭喊奔逃，乱作一团。玄德拼死杀出重围，到天明时，身边只剩一百余骑，两位夫人和幼子阿斗都已失散。

正在悲痛之际，糜芳面带数箭，踉踉跄跄地奔来，大叫：“赵子龙投曹操去了！”玄德喝道：“子龙是我故交，岂肯反我？”张飞道：“他多半是见我们走投无路，投曹操图个富贵去了！”玄德却道：“子龙跟我共患难，心如铁石，绝不是富贵能动摇的。”

原来赵云从四更起便与曹军厮杀，杀到天明，却发现主公的家眷都不见了。他心想：“主公把两位夫人和小主人托付给我，如今失散了，我还有什么脸面去见他？”于是单枪匹马，反身又杀入曹军之中，往来冲杀，逢人便问夫人的下落。

终于有百姓指点：“有位夫人腿上受了伤，抱着孩子，坐在前面那堵断墙后边。”赵云赶过去，只见玄德的夫人怀抱阿斗，坐在墙下的枯井旁边啼哭。赵云连忙下马拜倒。夫人道：“此子全靠将军保护。他父亲飘荡半生，只有这一点骨血，望将军护着他去见父亲，我死也安心了。”赵云请她上马，自己步行死战。夫人道：“将军没了马，怎么冲得出去？我已身受重伤，死不足惜，不要因我拖累了你。”说罢，把阿斗放在地上，纵身跳进了枯井。

赵云含泪推倒土墙，掩住枯井，然后解开铠甲，把阿斗护在胸前，翻身上马，手持长枪杀了出去。曹军将领一个接一个地拦住去路，赵云一路冲杀，杀得人仰马翻。

曹操在山顶上望见，问左右：“此人是谁？”有人飞马下山，大叫：“军中战将，请留姓名！”赵云应声道：“吾乃赵子龙也！”曹操赞叹道：“真虎将也！”当即传令：“不许放冷箭，只要捉活的。”这一场厮杀，赵云怀抱阿斗，直透重围，砍倒大旗两面，杀死曹军名将五十余员。

赵云杀到长坂桥，见张飞手握长矛，骑马站在桥上，便大叫：“翼德救我！”张飞道：“子龙快走，追兵我来抵挡！”赵云过了桥，又跑了二十多里，才赶上玄德，下马伏地而哭。他解开战袍一看，阿斗竟还在熟睡，一路都不曾醒。赵云这才放下心来：“幸好公子安然无恙！”

玄德接过孩子，却一把掷在地上，说：“为汝这孺子，险些损我一员大将！”赵云慌忙从地上抱起阿斗，哭拜道：“赵云纵然肝脑涂地，也报答不了主公的恩情！”

而在赵云身后，曹操的大军正滚滚而来，转眼就要杀到长坂桥前，桥上只有张飞一人一骑。
