Grammar in your sentence
Read any Chinese on any site
Point at a word on any page, or in YouTube and Netflix subtitles, for its pinyin in tone colours and its meaning in that sentence.
Add to Chrome, free (opens the Chrome Web Store in a new tab)How does the Chinese grammar checker work?
Write or paste up to 300 characters of Chinese and press Check grammar. You get your text back corrected, each change marked, and every fix explained in plain English: the measure word, the word order, the particle or the word that was wrong, and why. Under it are the grammar patterns your corrected sentence uses, each with its own page of examples.
How accurate is it?
It is checked by gpt-oss-120b, an open AI model, told to fix only real mistakes and keep your words. It catches the common learner errors well (word order, measure words, 了, 是 with adjectives), but it can miss a mistake or rewrite something that was fine, so read each reason and trust a teacher over it when they disagree.
Is it free?
Yes. Without an account you can check 5 times a day; a free account checks 50 times a day.
Where does my text go?
To our server, where Cloudflare runs the model. Neither your text nor the answer is kept, and the corrected text goes to our own parser only to find its grammar patterns.
How is it different from the grammar finder?
The grammar finder shows which patterns a text uses and doesn’t mark mistakes. The checker fixes your mistakes first, then shows the patterns in the corrected sentence.
