What are the styles of Chinese calligraphy?

Five scripts: seal (篆书, zhuànshū), the oldest; clerical (隶书, lìshū); regular (楷书, kǎishū), each stroke separate, the one learners write; running (行书, xíngshū), strokes joined for speed; and cursive (草书, cǎoshū), the freest, where whole characters are written in a few flowing lines.

What is Chinese cursive script?

草书 (cǎoshū), “grass script”. Strokes run together and characters are shortened to a few movements, so it is fast to write and hard to read: many Chinese readers can’t read it without training. For a tattoo or a sign that should be read, choose regular or running script.

Is this real calligraphy?

These are brush fonts, made from a calligrapher’s writing, so every copy of a character looks the same. A calligrapher’s own hand changes each stroke with the brush and the ink. For something to keep, such as a tattoo, have a calligrapher write it.

How do I write it in English?

Type an English word and the generator writes the dictionary’s Chinese word for it, with other words to choose from. Check the meaning before you use it.
