Choose a video, drop it on the box or paste it: an MP4, MOV or WebM, or a recording such as an MP3. Its Mandarin is heard a minute at a time and each line is written out with its time, then plays on the video as subtitles. Choose characters, characters with pinyin, or characters with English, and press Download subtitles for an SRT file.
Can the subtitles have pinyin or English?
Yes. With pinyin, each subtitle has the line in Chinese characters and its pinyin with tone marks under it, read word by word by our own reader. With English, each line’s English is under it, translated by Claude for what it means rather than word by word. Switch between them at any time and the video and the download follow.
How do I add the subtitles to my video?
Most video players and editors open an SRT file beside the video: in VLC choose Subtitle, then Add Subtitle File; in YouTube Studio choose Subtitles, then Upload file; CapCut, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve import SRT as captions. Name the SRT like the video and many players load it by themselves.
How long can a video be?
Up to 10 minutes. Without an account you can try 3 minutes a day; a free account hears 30 minutes a day. For longer videos, up to an hour, add them to Immersion and press Make a transcript.
Where does my video go?
Nowhere: it plays in your browser. Only its sound is taken out, on your device, and sent a minute at a time to our server, where Cloudflare runs Whisper to write it out. Neither the sound nor the text is kept. For English, each line’s text goes to Claude to be translated, and the translation is kept by its text, never with who asked.
