第一次见面

我和他是在网上认识的。我们聊了两个月，也看过照片，可是还没有见过面。
那个星期六晚上七点，我们第一次见面。地方是他找的，一家小饭馆。
他说过，他最喜欢喝路口那家店的奶茶。所以六点半，我先去了那家奶茶店。
可是那天买奶茶的人太多了！我等了很久很久，七点二十才拿到奶茶。
我马上去了饭馆。我想：“第一次见面，我就晚了二十分钟！”
到了饭馆，我看了看，他还没来。
七点半，门开了。他进来了，手里也拿着一杯奶茶。
“对不起，我来晚了！”他说，“你说过，你最喜欢喝这家的奶茶……”
他看着我手里的奶茶，我看着他手里的奶茶。
“你也去了路口那家店？”
“对！人太多了，我等了四十分钟。”
“我也等了很久！我怎么没看见你？”
他看了看我，笑着说：“我在外边等着，你可能在里边吧。”
那天晚上，我们吃得很少，说得很多，喝了两杯一样的奶茶。

He and I met online. We'd been chatting for two months and had seen each other's photos, but we'd never met.
That Saturday at seven, we were meeting for the first time. He picked the place: a little restaurant.
He'd once told me his favourite thing was the bubble tea from the shop on the corner. So at half past six, I went to that bubble tea shop first.
But that day there were far too many people buying tea! I waited and waited, and only got the tea at twenty past seven.
I went straight to the restaurant. I thought, “Our first time meeting, and I'm twenty minutes late!”
At the restaurant I looked around. He wasn't there yet.
At half past seven, the door opened. He came in, and he was holding a bubble tea too.
“Sorry I'm late!” he said. “You told me you love the tea from this shop…”
He looked at the tea in my hand, and I looked at the tea in his.
“You went to the shop on the corner too?”
“Yes! It was packed. I waited forty minutes.”
“I waited ages too! How did I not see you?”
He looked at me and smiled. “I was waiting outside. You must have been inside.”
That night we ate very little, talked a lot, and drank two identical bubble teas.
