English (for the teacher)
Guoguo is five this year. He only eats rice.
Meat? No. Eggs? No. Vegetables? No, not those either.
Mum says, “Guoguo, eat a few vegetables.”
Guoguo says, “No! I only eat rice.”
On Saturday, Grandma comes. She looks at Guoguo and smiles: “Today, I’m cooking.”
At lunch, Grandma gives Guoguo a bowl of rice. The rice is green!
“Grandma, what rice is this?”
“New rice. Have a bite.”
Guoguo takes a bite. “Yum!” He eats a whole bowl and wants more.
In the evening, the rice is red. On Sunday, the rice is yellow. Guoguo eats it all.
Mum asks quietly, “What’s in the rice?”
Grandma whispers back, “Vegetables, meat, eggs: it’s all in there.”
On Monday, Grandma goes home. Mum makes white rice.
Guoguo looks at his bowl: “Mum, I don’t eat white rice. I want the green rice!”
Mum phones Grandma at once: “Hello, Mum? Please come quickly!”
