English (for the teacher)
In May, it was my best friend’s birthday. I bought her a cup. It had a little cat on it, and it was really cute.
She loved it. “I’ll use it every day!” she said.
In July, it was my birthday. Mum gave me a great big birthday present.
I opened it, and inside was a cup with a little cat on it.
I looked at the cat, and the cat looked back at me.
“Mum, where did you buy this cup?”
Mum said, “I didn’t buy it.” “Your friend’s mum gave it to me.” “She said they have far too many cups at home.”
My little cat cup had come back.
The next day, my best friend phoned me. “My cat cup has gone missing!” “Do you know where it is?”
I looked at the cup, and the cat looked back at me. “I… I know.”
