English (for the teacher)
In China, there are a few phone numbers everyone should know.
110 is the police number. If your things have gone missing, you can call them.
If your home is on fire, call 119.
If someone is ill and can’t walk, call 120, and an ambulance will come.
If you have an accident while driving, call 122.
When you call, say where you are, and also what has happened. Speak a little slowly. Can’t speak Chinese? You can say, “Please come quickly!” These calls are all free.
Where you live, who do you call when something happens?
