The lost wallet that came back with a note
Name: ________________ Date: ________

English (for the teacher)
On Friday night I got home and only then realised I'd lost my wallet.
In it were my ID card, my bank card and thirty-five yuan. I looked for ages: not in my school bag, not in my clothes.
The next morning Uncle Wang downstairs phoned me: “Xiaolin, someone's brought something for you.”
I ran straight down. It was my wallet! Everything was there, not one yuan missing.
But there was one thing more in it: a little note.
“Hello! I saw your wallet on a bench by the park gate. Your ID card had your address on it, so I brought it over. Also, your coffee card already had nine red stamps. I used it to buy a coffee, so now it has ten. The next cup is free. It's on me!”
I laughed. Who was this person?
On Saturday afternoon I went to that coffee shop. I told the waitress, “My card has ten red stamps.”
She looked at the card, then at me, and said with a smile, “That wallet was yours, wasn't it?”
She handed me a coffee. She pointed at a girl by the window. “She comes here every Saturday. She said you might come too.”
I carried the coffee over. The girl looked at me and smiled. “How's the coffee?”
