English (for the teacher)
Sun Wukong had only just got back to Flower Fruit Mountain when the little monkeys, crying, told him: in all the years he had been away, a Demon King of Chaos had come to the mountain. This demon king was very bad: he often came to beat everyone up, took their things, and even carried off lots of little monkeys. When Wukong heard this he was furious: "Where does he live? I'm going to find him right now!"
Wukong found the Demon King of Chaos. The demon king looked at him and roared with laughter: "You're this small, you've got nothing in your hands, and you still want to fight me?" Wukong said: "My hands are all I need!" The two of them started to fight. Wukong pulled out some hairs, put them in his mouth, blew them forward and shouted: "Change!" At once the hairs turned into hundreds of little monkeys, and they all went for the demon king together. In the end, the Demon King of Chaos was killed, and Wukong took the little monkeys home.
Back home, Wukong thought: "If another bad guy comes one day, what then? Everyone needs a blade of their own!" He flew to a country nearby, blew a great gust of wind, and carried all the blades there back to Flower Fruit Mountain. From then on, everyone practised with their blades every day, and they loved it.
But what would Wukong himself use? He didn't like any of those blades. An old monkey said: "Your Majesty, the water under our bridge goes all the way to the East Sea. The Dragon King of the East Sea has lots of treasures. Why not go and ask him?"
Wukong jumped into the water at once and walked all the way to the Dragon Palace at the bottom of the East Sea. The Dragon King of the East Sea came out and asked: "Who are you? What have you come for?" Wukong said: "I'm Sun Wukong of Flower Fruit Mountain. I hear the Dragon Palace has lots of treasures, and I want one too!"
The Dragon King had someone bring a big broadsword. Wukong said: "I can't use a sword." The Dragon King had them bring something heavier: three thousand six hundred jin. Wukong picked it up with one hand: "Too light! Too light!" The Dragon King had them bring one of seven thousand two hundred jin. Wukong still said: "Isn't this way too light?"
Just then the Dragon King's wife whispered: "Isn't there the Sea-Calming Needle down at the bottom of the sea? These past few days it's been shining, as if it's waiting for him." The Dragon King thought: something that heavy, he'll never be able to lift, and when he can't, he'll go away. So he took Wukong to see it.
The Sea-Calming Needle stood at the very bottom of the sea, tall and huge, as bright as the sun. Wukong went over, took a look and said: "Too big. If only it were a little smaller." The moment he said it, it really did get a little smaller! Wukong was thrilled: "A bit smaller! A bit smaller!" It shrank and shrank, until in the end Wukong could hold it in one hand. On it was written: "As-You-Will Gold-Banded Staff, thirteen thousand five hundred jin." Wukong grinned: "Good, this is the one!"
Holding the gold-banded staff, Wukong swung it this way and that through the Dragon Palace, and the whole Dragon Palace shook. The Dragon King was terrified and didn't dare say a word. Wukong said with a smile: "This staff is really handy, thanks! But I still don't have any nice clothes." The Dragon King said: "I really don't have any more!" Wukong raised the gold-banded staff: "You don't? Then shall we try this on you?"
The Dragon King had no choice, so he called his three younger brothers. The four Dragon Kings together found Wukong a fine hat and fine clothes, and a pair of new shoes too. Wukong put on his new clothes and, staff in hand, went back to Flower Fruit Mountain laughing. He said "Small," and the gold-banded staff turned as small as a needle, and he put it in his ear.
The Dragon Kings watched him go, absolutely furious. The Dragon King of the East Sea said: "This monkey is too much! I'm going to the Palace of Heaven to tell the Jade Emperor!"
