English (for the teacher)
It’s raining, and raining hard. My umbrella is red.
School is out. At the school gate, a man is standing in the rain. He has no umbrella.
I say, “Here, take it!”
“What about you?”
“My home is just up ahead!”
I run home. Mum asks, “Where’s your umbrella?”
“I gave it to a man.”
“Do you know him?”
“No.”
Mum laughs. “Then your umbrella isn’t coming home.”
The next day, it doesn’t rain. The day after, it doesn’t rain either.
On Monday, a new teacher comes to our class. He’s holding my red umbrella!
I look at the teacher, and the teacher looks at me. We both smile.
After class, the teacher gives me two umbrellas: “This one is yours. This one is new, and it’s yours too.”
“Both for me?”
“Yes. Next time it rains, you’ll give one away again.”
