Third tones
A third tone before another third tone is said as a second tone: 你好 nǐ hǎo is said ní hǎo, and 水果 shuǐguǒ is said shuíguǒ. Hear it on the third tone pair.
一 and 不
一 yī is said yí before a fourth tone (一个 yí gè) and yì before the other tones (一起 yìqǐ), but stays yī when counting or at the end. 不 bù is said bú before a fourth tone: 不是 bú shì.
Between words
When two words that each end and start on a third tone are said together, as in 很好, the first usually rises too: hén hǎo. That depends on how the sentence is phrased, so these are listed apart, as often said.
