Do Chinese pronouns change for he, she and it?
Not in speech: he, she and it are all tā. Only the writing differs: 他 (he), 她 (she) and 它 (it). Add 们 for the plural (我们, we), and 的 for the possessive (我的, my), though close family and home drop it: 我妈妈 (my mum). 我 is both “I” and “me”.
What is the difference between 我们 and 咱们?
咱们 (zánmen) always includes the person you are talking to: “you and me”. 我们 (wǒmen) can leave them out. 咱们 is more common in the north and in speech.
How do question words work in Chinese?
A question word sits where the answer will go, and the sentence keeps its order: 你去哪儿?(nǐ qù nǎr, where are you going?) is answered 我去北京 (I’m going to Beijing). A question with a question word takes no 吗.
