What is IB Chinese?
In the IB Diploma Programme, Mandarin is taken as Language B (for students who have studied it before, at Standard or Higher Level) or as ab initio (for beginners, Standard Level only). Both are built on five themes: identities, experiences, human ingenuity, social organization and sharing the planet. Paper 2 tests listening and reading comprehension.
What is on this practice test?
Sixteen questions at Mandarin B: eight listening and eight reading, drawn from 20 for this course across the five themes, so each try is different. Questions and answers are in Chinese, as on the paper; hover or tap any word for its pinyin and meaning.
How is it scored?
You see the share you got right and each part’s count, then every question with the right answer and its English. The IB sets new grade boundaries each session, and Paper 2 also has short answers, so this page doesn’t guess a 1 to 7 grade.
How does listening work?
Each recording plays on its own once, and you may play it once more, in your device’s Mandarin voice, a second voice for the other speaker. Chrome, Edge and Safari have Mandarin voices.
Is this an official IB paper?
