English (for the teacher)
Grandma has a new phone. On the first day, she calls me. Ten times.
Seven in the morning: “Hello? Can you hear me?” “Yes, Grandma.” “Good, that’s all!”
Nine o’clock: “The words on this phone are too small!”
Eleven o’clock: “I want to see your photos. How do I look at them?”
Three in the afternoon: “My phone’s gone silent!” “We’re on the phone right now, Grandma.”
Ten at night: “Are you asleep?” “I am.”
The next day, Grandma doesn’t call, not once. I call her: once, twice, three times, and she doesn’t pick up.
In the evening, I get a photo from Grandma.
In the photo, Grandma is in the park, and five old people are looking at her. They are all holding new phones.
Grandma has written a few words too: “Today I’m the teacher.”
On the third day, at seven in the morning, there’s another call: “Hello? Can you hear me?”
It isn’t Grandma. It’s Grandma’s friend.
