Chinese numbers listening practice

Hear a number, a price, a phone number, a date or a time said in Mandarin and type it. Ten in a round, against the clock.

Hear

How it works

Choose what to hear and press Start. Each one is said once; Space on the empty box or the speaker says it again, slower each second time. Type it in digits and press Enter. The clock runs from the first one to the tenth.

How to type each

Numbers as digits (12,000 or 12000). Prices in yuan: 三十五块五 is 35.5. Phone numbers digit by digit. Dates as year, month, day: 2026-10-26. Times as 15:30 or 3:30 (a dot works too, for a phone’s number pad), since the part of the day is said: 下午三点半.

What trips learners

两 for 2 before a unit (两万, 两块); 幺 yāo for 1 in phone numbers; 零 for a gap (一百零五 is 105); 万 counting in ten thousands (十二万 is 120,000); the last unit dropped in prices (十二块五 is ¥12.50); 号 for the day in speech; 刻 for a quarter hour.

The voice

Your device’s own Mandarin voice says each one: phones and Chrome, Edge and Safari have one. If yours has none, the page shows the Chinese to read instead.
