How does this listening practice work?
You hear a sentence at HSK 6, type what you heard in characters or pinyin, and see each word marked, with its pinyin and the English. Ten sentences a round, then your score and the words you missed, which you can keep to review.
Where are the sentences from?
Every sentence is a line from one of our Library stories and articles, read by one of two native narrators, a woman’s voice and a man’s. Open the story to hear the rest of it: you get fluent from material you enjoy, not from a textbook.
Slow or normal?
Start on Slow (three quarters of the speed, same pitch). When you get most words right, switch to Normal, the speed the narrators read the whole story at.
Which level should I pick?
Start one level below your reading level: listening is harder than reading. Go up a level when you get 8 of 10 words or more.
